Hannah Hampton - A Visit From Apollo

2014-11-07 0

The breeze was cool, the rain had passed
The air was sweet, summer at last
In all its glory came our way
Declaring it had come to stay
Words do no justice to the boy
Who held my heart within his hand
A knowing grin, his face was coy
The impression he knew something grand
His hair shined golden in the sun
His eyes almost transparent blue
His smile made me come undone
His drawling voice I almost knew
He wore the summer with grace and style
Master of a place far from his home
His confidence stood out a mile
The fearless angel with a world to roam
Though the gods to me had come in full
To him they were a little flighty
He got a visit from Apollo
But missed the one from Aphrodite
