As I look down on the world
I see myself more clearly
Everything I achieved and nearly
Everything I fought for all seems small now
Everything I sought for dearly
And conflicts of the bitter past
Cast in the bitter seeds of pain
Wither and die in the suns cleansing heat
As I look down on the world
Brother you and I look the same
All my excuses seem lame
All my bitterness my shame
Came left and went
All my spent time brooding
I realise that it was a waste
I need to move on with haste
I can be no one but myself
My dreams are my wealth
But when I let others define me
Clearly nothing can I be
And the things I see are not my own
I stand alone with just the clothes on my back
Thirsting for all that I lack
But can never have
And don’t really need
I alone hold the key
To be freed from this maze of rights and wrongs
If only I could see the big picture all the time and be strong
