Liquid Tomorrows and Frozen Yesterdays

Sometimes i dream that i am a fox
Running in the woods & the fields.
Always in these dream i seem to be
searching the landscape of some unknown
forgotten country with every shadow passage...
i add a strange bead to the cache of my soul quest.
The woman with long flowing hair
in the small house of twigs deep
in the briers and hedges of my slumber.
She sings about liquid tomorrows
& frozen yesterdays & invites me in
to sleep with chanting glowing leaves...
by the hearth...i always awake
and forget my labors and journeys
as i rub my eyes in the other life & i forget
my fox flesh & awake to my
true self and bury the puzzling fur
deep in the burial mounds of the day
and wait to run in the wickets of
moonlight to that echoing hearth to awake.
