Drowning from the inside, suffocating when breathing,
Being naked whilst fully clothed, bleeding with no open wound,
Taking and still not receiving, beating and punishing.
‘The best laid schemes o’ mice and men’
Destroying and burning, eating and vomiting,
Cursing and screaming, struggling and fighting,
Living but not alive, evil with no sin,
Drowning from the inside, suffocating when breathing.
‘Stand oft astray, leaving nothing but toil’
All the time loving and burning for something not expected,
Something unplanned but wanted all the same,
Breathing, living, surviving.
‘The best laid schemes o’ mice and men’
