Misfortunes can be intense
In the hour of sadness,
But even earthquake ravages
Get rebuilt until a skyline
Is majestic again
With incredible architecture.
The way of humanity
Is to outdistance the trivial,
And to endure the heart rending
And miserable
Because healing is inevitable
And redeeming.
I have viewed the sun at sunset
For a moment hanging more beautifully
Than a painting in the Louvre
And my soul was awed.
