A seedy bar near Half Moon Bay
known for trysts, where lovers play
while lonely spouses wait at home
beside a clock and all alone.
A vengeful woman in a chair,
hoping someone sees here there.
A playful cat, a mouse she seeks,
eyeing men through fingers peeks,
fantasizing, nothing missed,
her mind goes racing down a list
of attributes to be beneath
in wanton loving 'tween the sheets.
Courage bolstered by her drinks,
seductive eyes give blatant winks,
and volumes spoken in her smile
telling them - love me awhile.
The guilt long gone, her lesson learned,
revenge is sweet and now hate burned
at this same table where he sat
and broke her heart - he saw to that,
while she sat waiting there at home
beside a clock and all alone.
