Linda Harnett - Windmills

2014-11-07 9

I’m sitting by a windmill,
In a hurricane it seems,
I feel that I’ve been here before,
Or was it in my dreams.

I watch it quickly turning,
Just going round and round,
The gale it seems to deafen,
The windmill makes no sound.

I sit in fascination,
My mind just blown away,
I should be heading home now,
The windmill makes me stay.

To stay awhile in solitude,
And let my thoughts run free,
I’m caught up in the hurricane,
The windmill’s part of me.

It now seems never ending,
A bit like life, you see,
Just going round in circles,
The windmill now, is me.
