Dr John Celes - Sonnet: Violence Can’t Solve Things

2014-11-07 1

Violence can’t solve all problems permanently;
Violence begets violence with upward trends;
No one dare grab a land most violently;
Better you talk over matters like friends.

Evil-doers will meet an evil end;
There ought to be some fairness in one’s words;
A righteous nation sure God will defend;
You can’t sow seeds of war and send peace-birds!

When truth/ justice prevails on earth ev’n now,
By threat of bullets, one can’t win a war;
Dialogue can sort out things when done with love;
Deceiving minds can only one’s name mar.

Violence can’t get an inch of land hereaft;
Nor can scud-missiles/ nuclear-tipped air-craft!
