When it hears the name it will spring into action, ready to satisfy its users’ needs.

The device can access weather, news, and sports-related content, and even answer some general questions.
Keeping track of the time and making to-do and shopping lists are also among its talents.
Unlike other virtual personal assistants, such as Siri and Cortana, Alexa isn’t designed to be fully mobile.
The speaker doesn’t take batteries, so in order to use it, the device must be plugged into an outlet.
What it does having going for it is range.
Outfitted with 7 microphones, Echo is said capable of picking up commands coming from across a room.
At this time, invitations for its purchase are being extended to a limited number of people.
