Shelley Cornelius Phillips - Standing Firm

2014-11-07 14

One cannot run away from one's past
It will only make one's sufferings last
Stand firm against the repercussions
and soon you'll be pampered with soft cushions
pray everyday to keep the evil at Bay
If you do these you'll find that heaven isn't far
away
Let others say all they want to say of your
reputations
In the end you will overcome their convulsions
Be true to yourself and you'll know where you stand
Then you'll be proud of yourself whether you're a
child, woman or man
Keep your head up when you're down trodden and
forsaken
Because a time is coming when you'll be lifted up
to heaven
