Karen Wedley - Where soul mates go

2014-11-06 2

You smoulder like a maelstrom of angst and passion
and when I search your eyes I discover your soul.
Your thoughts flicker like flames that lick at my very core,
flames that writhe like a serpent, consuming all in its wake.

Your gaze always seduces me,
and words drip off your tongue like honey,
a sweet nectar, that invites me to have just a little taste.

Just like a moth to a flame I submit...
to the inevitable? to fate?

How easy it was to fall in love with you.....
to ascend to a higher level of love
an emotion that commanded my spirit to reach out and touch,
to feel its way in the darkness,

How simple it is to make love
But how wonderful it is to go beyond...
far out on a wave of ecstasy that takes us both out to sea
before laying us gently back down again on the shore.

The shoreline where soul mates go...
Where secret loves have a moment of truth
and for a short while, a moment so pure
that even love itself bows down and weeps....
