Palestinians threw stones at Israeli forces who replied with tear gas to disperse the crowds outside the Ofer prison near the West Bank city of Ramallah on Thursday (November 6).
Tensions escalated this week with two car ramming attacks in Jerusalem which killed one Israeli and wounded more than a dozen, including three soldiers.
The attacks came after fierce clashes between Israeli police and Palestinians at the entrance to the 8th-century al-Aqsa mosque, Islam's third most sacred place.
With tensions soaring in Jerusalem over access to a compound housing Islam's third-holiest site - where biblical Jewish temples once stood - Jordan denounced what it described as Israel's violations in the city and said it was recalling its ambassador from Tel Aviv.
