If we only knew
that 9/11 would happen
Would there be less tears?
Would saddened souls disappear?
Would the loved ones who died
be driving home tonight?
If we only knew
what was going to happen,
Would we be out of a war?
Would all the dead soldiers
not be mourned?
If we only knew
what that day would bring
Would we try to stop it
or would we just say good-bye
one last time?
If we only knew
that planes would crash
because of silly stuff,
would we say to our
enemies, 'Enough! '
if we only knew,
those words haunt me in my sleep,
