Choosing a spokesmodel is something many companies take quite seriously, but it appears that a Turkish hair removal company is not among them.

Choosing a model to promote a product’s image is something many companies take very seriously, but it appears that a Turkish hair removal enterprise is not among them.

They’ve recently published an online ad that features Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the imprisoned al-Qaeda official.

The picture they chose is one that was taken of the alleged September 11th attack planner shortly after his 2003 arrest in Pakistan.

In it he’s disheveled and a thick layer of hair covers his upper chest and back.

Above the photo is a caption that translates as, "Waiting won’t get rid of that hair!"

While that may be true, the ad has raised some questions.

Topping the list is why they chose a terrorist to promote their product.

According to a spokesperson for the company, they actually had no idea who the specific person in the image was.

He said, "The guy is quite hairy, so we thought his body was a good fit for our ad," and noted that they found it on a popular Turkish social media site.

Apparently the photo of Mohammed is a popular meme in the country.
