Take a golf cart that was created by the Plum Quick Racing team. On Friday, the crew unveiled their vehicle at the Darlington Dragway in South Carolina for the Golf Cart World Speed Record.
The little cart flew down the track, eventually hitting a speed of 118.76 miles per hour. That feat means the team shattered the previous Guinness World Record for the fastest golf cart, which was clocked in at 103.65 miles per hour.
It is noteworthy to point out that the former record holder is Plum Quick Racing, so by defeating that speed the crew was basically beating themselves.
Cruising around on a course at nearly 119 miles per hour would allow a golfer to reach his or her 250-yard drive in just over 4 seconds or maneuver around 18 holes in about 3 minutes.
Staffers at Plum Quick Motors are quite knowledgeable when it comes to high-performing golf carts. The company is behind a number of golf cart engines including ‘The Bandit’, ‘The Executioner’ and ‘The Assassin’.
