Rachel Henley - A Cynics View Of Friendships

2014-11-05 2

Friendships are irrelevant,
there is nothing eternal in trivial things.
Friends do what suit's the independant people,
Independant people do not suit as friends.

Loyalty only lasts as long as your utility.
Declare me cynical for declaring the truth,
I would rather be a cynic than a deceiver,
I would rather be alone,
than place my trust in something that never was.

Friends come together, united in the falsehood,
that everyone likes everyone,
but everyone talks about everyone,
nobody really likes everyone,
everyone is not your friend.

I grow weary of those people,
who smile at faces they say they hate,
the names on cards of people who don't really care,
I am not cynical of 'friendships'
how can I?
When they were never really there.
