Giant iPhone dismantled in Russia after Apple CEO comes out

Once a memorial to Apple founder Steve Jobs, this giant iPhone in St. Petersburg is the latest casualty of Russia's strict anti-gay laws.

A Russian group of companies called ZEFS or West European Financial Union dismantled the smartphone replica after Jobs' successor Tim Cook came out last week.

The company, that had installed the iPhone in a local college in 2013, now says it needs to abide by a Russian law - signed by President Putin last year - that bans the spread of what the government calls "gay propaganda" among minors.
