Pilot error is not being ruled out in the deadly crash of a Virgin Galactic suborbital space plane.
Officials think the plane's special wing tips -- called feathers -- designed to essentially fold the craft into two and create drag as the plane re-enters the atmosphere -- were deployed too early.
The new information comes from the plane's data cards... providing loads of telemetry, or communications, data...
As well as on board cameras, including one inside the cockpit.
SOUNDBITE: CHRISTOPHER HART, ACTING NTSB CHAIRMAN, SAYING:
"Review of that camera is consistent with the telemetry data that the feather lock-unlock lever was moved by the co-pilot from the locked position to the un-lock position.... Shortly after the feathering occurred, the telemetry data terminated and the video data terminated."
Investigators say the feathers should have been deployed when the plane was traveling at about 1.4 times the speed of sound.
Instead they began rota
