At least 24 migrants dead after boat sinks in Bosphorus Strait in Istanbul

At least 24 bodies have been recovered in the Bosphorus Strait in Istanbul after the sinking of a boat thought to be carrying illegal migrants.

Seven people are reported to have been rescued.

Local media say some 40 people are thought to have been on board the stricken vessel.

Search and rescue operations continue in the area, near the Black Sea end of the Bosphorus.
