Famous horror fiction author, Stephen King, recently gave an interview to promote his new book, ‘Revival.’

During the interview with Rolling Stone Magazine, King explained his own thoughts about religion and God.

The main character in his new book is a Methodist minister who denounces his faith after a tragic accident occurs.

King is quoted as saying, "I choose to believe that God exists, and therefore I can say, ‘God, I can’t do this by myself. Help me not to take a drink today. Help me not to take a drug today.’ And that works fine for me."

The prominent author also mentioned that he has been skeptical of organized religion since he was a child, and he thinks some people misuse religion as “a dangerous tool.”

When asked about the roots of evil, King said he feels like evil is inherent for some humans, rather than being conditioned by some past experiences.

Another prominent figure, astrophysicist Stephen Hawking also expressed his ideas about religion and God in a recent interview.

Hawking, who is a leading expert on outer space, came out and clearly stated in the interview that he is an atheist.
