DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK - Shelter

Shelter
- - - - - - -
Cold, quite cold
Is this world
Cold, quite cold
Is this marble
And I find it
Serene and tranquil
In every curve and line
Flakes of beauty shine
It's cold and still
Yet in her breast
Lies charms of peace
Where in flowers
And in twinkling stars
In rays of sunrise
And in rays of sunset
The same serenity lies
Nor winds are fierce here
Nor tides run high or near
Spring ails not
Nor autumn falter
Come summer
Come winter
And when gone never felt
The mason with aptitude
Designs and builds it
Where I dream my final rest
In the grace of simple stone
I am just a pebble from sand
To be rolled down latter or soon
Unto that quiet home
Free from storm and gale
