Honduras privatizes bankrupt public transport service

A new new public transport project in Tegucigalpa, Honduras inaugurated in 2013 was bankrupt before it even purchased the vehicles. 'Honduras 50' cost taxpayers US$50 million, and was abandoned for over a year. It has now has been sold to private companies that will be forced to charge exorbitant rates in order to turn a profit.
