Peruvian police fatally shoot father of seven in violent eviction

It began as an eviction attempt...but quickly turned violent..

62 year old Fidel Flores Vasquez, shot while resisting an eviction order.

Caught on camera by a local reporter in the town of Cajamarca, Peru...police had come to evict Vasquez, a mechanic living in the house with his wife and seven children.

But Vasquez was not going quietly....so police opened fire.

Minutes later, family members were able to reach Vasquez, but by the time they got him to hospital, it was too late. Vasques was pronounced dead on arrival, leaving the community in shock.

"It's an eviction but it is an injustice."

Many in the town are furious and are demanding an investigation into how an eviction notice could have turned so deadly.
