It is that time of year – when teenage cinema-goers are out in search of the ultimate Halloween scare.

With its cliche-filled screenplay and its cast of beautifully groomed actors, low-budget horror flick ‘Ouija’ has delivered – surprising pundits in North America by collecting 20 million dollars in just one weekend, knocking Brad Pitt’s ‘Fury’ out of first place.

The movie tells the story of a group of friends who must confront their most terrifying fears when they awaken the dark powers of an ancient spirit board.

The success of the movie is also a reminder that audiences often ignore movie reviews. Critics hated ‘Ouija’, giving it a rancid 10% rating on film review site Rotten Tomatoes.

Marvel Studios have released a new, extended trailer of their highly anticipated movie ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’.

It is the sequel to the 2012 hit ‘The Avengers’, based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. The movie became the third highest-grossing film in the world, earning more than 1.5 billion dollars.

Joss Whedon is back in the director’s seat for the movie, which sees the five main Avengers characters return, with a star-studded cast including Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L Jackson.

Joining the team are two new Avengers characters from the comic books – the hexing Scarlet Witch played by Elizabeth Olsen and the speeding Quicksilver taken on by Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ is set for a global release next spring.

It will be followed by a two-part sequel entitled ‘Avengers: Infinity War’.
