Rihanna, Miley Cyrus and Justin Timberlake were among the stars at nighttime event benefitting amfAR (Foundation for AIDS research). The event paid tribute to celebrated fashion designer Tom Ford, who was presented the amFAR Award of Inspiration by pop star and fashion icon, Rihanna.
The event raised over 3 million dollars (USD) for AIDS research.
Polish prosecutors said on Thursday (October 30) they had interviewed filmmaker Roman Polanski in connection with a U.S. extradition request over a 1977 sex crime conviction, but decided not to detain him, the Polish state news agency reported.
The filmmaker pleaded guilty in 1977 to having unlawful sex with 13-year-old girl during a photoshoot in Los Angeles, fueled by champagne and drugs.
Polanski served 42 days in jail as part of a 90-day plea bargain in 1977. He fled the United States the following year, believing the judge hearing his case could overrule the deal and put him in jail for years.
