Sweden has officially recognised the state of Palestine, in a move hailed by the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas but condemned by Israel. Sweden is the first EU member state in Western Europe to recognise the Palestinian state, and has long argued for Palestinians' right to self-determination. Al Jazeera's Mohamed Vall reports.
