'10 hours of walking in NYC as a woman'- my response- please read description

this is a continuation of the video i made- '
my solution to dealing with catcalling (and other things)'... this one is speaking to the video itself. i acknowledge my views may be deemed 'controversial', particularly in an environment devoid of analysis, and rife with emotion. i also realized that instead of 'repercussion', a better word would have been 'consequence'.

this is the one page i saw from the organization's site, which references other organizations doing work to address issues of harassment:

and, a book list:

in reading their site; while i think the work they appear to be doing is something that SHOULD be done, i feel it's important for me to see the addressing the LARGER issues of how capitalism plays into these dynamics. it's imperative to deal with these issues from an anti-capitalist framework, because that is what is guiding the very issues these organizations are working to end.

i also think they need to work on how they market their film clips, because the clip i am discussing in the video has done the task of polarizing people (and let's keep it real, exacerbating people's mysogyny). being harassed on the street is very real, and yes- assuming every single person who says 'hello' is wanting to sleep with you is going to lose some of the people you are attempting to reach... which should be ALL people, regardless of gender or orientation. if they are willing to take that risk then fine; however, i don't think that is their intent.

here's a response video- from a guy's perspective- which is actually utilizing the same message as the original video, but using satire as a means of communication.
