DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK - Forgiveness

Forgiveness
- - - - - - - - -
Do you knock
Your teeth off
When they bite your tongue
When they are part of us
And everyone is a part
Of this Cosmic World
Where is room then
For resentment and anger
To give shoulder cold

There is always a fight
Between the Divine
And the Demonic forces
Within our mind
Divinity is kindness and
Love and forgiveness
Demonic is envy and
Cruelty and narrowness
They come to our
Mind's inner chamber
And try to steal
All the valuables like
Love, compassion and kindness
Stored carefully over the years

They are more than gold mines
But the thieves demonic reject
Them as practically
Nothing worth stealing
Hence rudely accost the mind
Demanding to know
Where the valuables are lying
Getting no response
The miscreants begin attacking it

Awakened by the commotion
A few emotions rush into the mind's room
And being appalled by the sight
They see the thieves taking to their heel in no time
Then they decide to pursue the miscreant
But do not go after them my dear
Pause and reflect a minute
For if your teeth bite your tongue
Do you knock them off a bit?
