The sunset hour darkens my door,
I watch for shadows on the floor,
There he stands in luminous air,
The answer to my daily prayer
With closed eyes I can see his form,
The cold night air turns oh, so warm,
I taste his kiss scorching the air,
I raise my hand to touch his hair
Just particles and flecks of dust,
I despair and turn in disgust,
He pulls me back and holds me tight,
My spirit love, my errant knight
Sensuous feelings are unending,
I'm tormented with pretending,
When from reality I flee,
It's then his spirit comes to me
And I love him.... how I love him,
Here come the tears, my eyes grow dim,
I can feel my body aching,
I'm alone... my heart is breaking
I know the rules, I've played this part,
Weariness overtakes my heart,
A foolish dream, a wish in vain,
Companion from another plane
Face of moonlight, kiss of dreams,
Love's longing taken to extremes,
Existing in some realm above,
He's all I have..... my spirit love
