Honduras seeks to lower incarceration age to 16

Honduran police are seeking to change the country's laws to allow people as young as 16 to be jailed along with adults. Present laws do not permit prison sentences for people under 18. Opponents of the proposed measure say that it would do nothing to lower crime as the country's jails are controlled by prisoners and gangs more than by authorities, and that there is no sort of rehabilitation. teleSUR
