David McLansky - On The Death of a Great Comedian

2014-10-29 0

Those who give the gift of hope
To those who feel that they can't cope
Should never resort to the rope
When they despair like some old Pope;

Would he negate all of his wisdom
Having preached bravery to those in prison
Turning laughter into derision
Death the bleakest dark decision

Suicide is so depressing
A riff that leaves the living guessing
Was his humor mere obsessing,
What did he mean by his final lesson?
