Okay, sometimes our hair might look like it’s been hacked at with a pair of shears, but we’ve never seen a haircut done like this before.
Vietnamese hairdresser Nguyen Hoang Hung offers a quick trim with a difference – instead of using scissors, he cuts hair with a katana, a traditional Japanese sword also known as a samurai.
According to Hung, the sword allows him to achieve a light, feathered finish that just isn’t possible with scissors.
After practising for a month on ladies with long hair (a whole month!), he’s now moved on to shorter styles, from bobs to, um, boyish crops.
While his customers appear a little apprehensive in the video, all look fairly happy with the final cut.
