Yesterday a commercial rocket carrying supplies for the international space station exploded shortly after takeoff from Wallace Island, Virginia. A Russian rocket with supplies was successfully launched several hours later. This is the first setback for NASA since it cancelled its space shuttle program, and began contracting out to private companies for the supply missions. teleSUR
