Ruth Walters - Outsized Hooter

2014-10-29 4

Pretty faces on wide screen
blur into one hybrid woman
with tight, firm skin
as I blink.

I'm bored by the pretty
and fix on a strikingly,
large nosed woman
who's being funny.

Enhanced lips, plumped cheeks,
plastic breasts float
along the screen
every day.

I'm more turned on by puppies.
Those big cutesy eyes
and heads that turn sideways
appealingly.

It's so sad as stars age,
their faces freeze
with successive
Botox jabs.

There's a plastic surgery
epidemic.
You're not allowed to
just grow old.

The comedienne
talks about her size 16 dress
and makes a quip
about sex.

I smile,
sitting on the edge
of raucous laughter,
trembling

I can't hold back
and let out an almighty squeal
for the large lady's jokes
and her beautiful ‘hooter'.
