The mourners stand in the aging church
heads bowed down in prayer
friends and family
praying for Lauren
I did not know well
but had heard of the joyful angel
now she has gone
in the blink of an eye
I pray for your ascent Lauren
and for your family too
trying to get through
this very distressing time
I also pray for her friends
as she is mourned by many
she joins the angels
living in their minds
