Lamont Palmer - Symbols For Unwanted Things

2014-10-29 3

To spite the (typographical) errors, the collapses,
I’m reminded of days of infirmities, a compromised
Feeling; shifting winds away from security to uncertainty;

I am thinking of blues-soaked archetypes;
Animals, or animals living inside
Animals; I'm thinking of the paucity of truth,

As lost in failures of the night, insolvency
Drips: peeling the banana to find it lifeless
Inside; yellow yet moribund, diffidence matching silence.

Speak it once again; some stand-in for
Mallarme you’ve become; under misunderstood trees;
You thought you were clear; you were cloudy again.
