Gypsy Boy Varey - The Gypsy Girl

2014-10-29 76

The Gypsy girl has knowing eyes
That see much for one so young
Practiced is she at telling lies
And using her flowery tongue

The skills she learned from another
Do stand her in good stead
For taught she was by her mother
To ensure they both get fed

They carry the bag upon the arm
And knock from door to door
To sell the heather or a charm
To the rich and to the poor

'Buy from a Gypsy' is what they say
'And good luck will follow you'
'Health and wealth for you today'
But the opposite is true

For untrue are the story's that she tells
Both each and every day
As flawed as the trinkets that she sells
And for neither should you pay
