Patti Masterman - Hominid

Hominid: all tooth and bone,

Eyes and claws, and raptor-gaze

Nimbly, as the vociferous brain

Strains the nomenclature'd day.

We suck the smoke in, never blinking,

Eyes not leaving the quarry's face;

For we are bloodlust, as defined-

While the irrelevant, we raze.
