Paige Parker - The Man In The Water

2014-10-29 8

A disaster, a devastation, a dead silence.
A silence as still as a statue,
waiting for the break.
The trees and grass stand still,
in shock from the impact.
Although no tears come from human eyes,
the water holds the tears of tragedy.
One man who knowingly sacrifices himself,
to unknown strangers.
They look upon his average face,
and see their glowing savior.
No one knows his name,
but they will silently thank him,
until they see him again.
His death comes slowly,
worn from water and metal.
The bridge will remember him,
with the mourning weeds and flowers.
