Today, I really needed my mommy,
But she was nowhere to be found.
I cried for her, but she still didn't come,
So, I tried not making a sound.
Being quiet didn't work, so I screamed,
Screamed louder than ever before,
Then I screamed one more time to be sure
And I sprawled myself out on the floor.
She still didn't come, but in the mean time
A man happened by and inquired:
"What makes today such an awful, bad day? "
I told him, although I felt tired:
"My best friend moved out of town yesterday, '
I said. "And I woke feeling sick.
"I have to wash the car AND mow the lawn;
"Even though, as I said, I'm sick."
The man agreed this is an awful, bad day,
A day that a boy needs his mom.
"Although, " he said, "you are about fifty years old."
And he said it with certain aplomb.
Hm. Nes
