Dedicated to Tina Louise Perez
If only I could fly-I'd fly away
Over rainbows the colors of red, blue, and green.
In the ludicrous wonders of my dreams
And through the art of my imagination,
I'd soar with the birds and the bees
With the breeze and the wind.
Over a full moon and across a beautiful, still ocean
On a warm summer afternoon.
Loving you is easy because this is my fairy tale,
Making it up as I go along
As I glide freely and spiritually
Through the playground of the stars and the angels,
Knowing this is probably the closest
I'll ever get to Heaven and God.
This is the reality of what I can only dream of.
The place where my desires and dreams
Collide with the monstrosities of reality.
The reality of life and death, hate and love-
Everything that confuses the senses.
I'd fly away from it all.
Take to the sky like an eagle. Flirt with the clouds.
Jet across a mystical land with a mythical dragon.
I could leave all my worries behind
Except one-knowing the flying will someday end.
