Marilyn Lott - Where the Green Grass Grows

2014-10-29 10

You know you live a country life
When you see waving fields of green
Cattle dotting ‘cross the way
Such peacefulness is seen

Windmills whirling with such grace
Rustic, true and free
Yes, where the green grass grows
Is the perfect home for me

Horses roaming in those fields
Perhaps a donkey now and then
Wildflowers growing aimlessly
It’s a calm and colorful blend

Oh listen, hear the sound of a tractor
A mower wide and strong
It’s time to harvest that grass today
Husky winter bales is where it belongs

The smell so pure you would not believe
The air is fragrant and sweet
Fresh cut grass has a scent of its own
And is Mother Nature’s treat

Country is the destination I seek
Where life just naturally slows
The only life I would be happy is
Where the green grass grows!
