Kelly Curiel - Icebergs

2014-10-29 5

How I wish to be like boreal icebergs
Who stand mighty against shivering waters
As ireful icicles rain down in defense
With the painful sting of a bitter cold.
How strong and tall are its frigid walls
While invidious waves lash against them
Snow melts away, but the icebergs stay
So solid against the sentient sun
Beating down unforgiving heat
The icebergs are always on their own
Against all earthly things unknown
They shall go on forever firm-
while the warmest flames waver
under the most steady of winds.
