My daddy built a cupboard for me
When I was just a little girl
Ah, those precious memories
Sure sets my mind awhirl
I would put away food from lunch
Perhaps a piece of bread
Then take it out later because
It was time for my dollies to be fed
I remember one time I forgot
Weeks went by it seems to me
I popped a bit of bread in my mouth
And boy, did it taste nasty
My kids played with the cupboard
And now my grandkids as well
It makes me smile to realize
They will have special stories to tell!
