The iris
dances
unafraid
before the God
of Thunder.
“Perun! ”
the iris sings to him.
“Perunika! ”
he laughs at her.
Here in the magic
ocean of the sky
a thousand mists
clothe their laughter.

Perun is the Slavic God of Thunder and the Iris is his flower...thus Perunika.
