Faces and Forums

Do we really want an answer
Are we questioning ourselves
Are we flitting in the ether like some
Insubstantial elves?
We tell the world and noone
The fraudster he might listen
Faceless little facebooks -
Sentences and prison.
Fleeting, flirting, flatulence
Accentuating sins
videos of student days
With mad and maudlin grins
Sending up the river our little bits of fame,
We do a dance, we do a flip, we sing
and praise our name
Are we looking for an answer
Or just another shout
A wriggle in the Universe
What is it all about?
What does this stark projection
Achieve across a day
Does it test our social skills or
Moulder them away?
Have we so adapted to a world upon a screen
that the daylight is not bright enough
And life remains unseen?
We pander to our popups and
little burpy beeps
Smilies at the ready and scowlies for the creeps
Conceivably, believably we have a million friends
But have we got a neighbour
To nurse us at the end?
