Joseph Enright - A Nonsence

2014-10-28 19

Is the moon lazy when it lies on its back?
Was it the zebra who designed the piano,
White and black?
Is the elephant the wrong way round?
Small tail behind, large trunk in front, down to the ground

Why do monkeys hang by their tails?
Perhaps in the night at the moon they do gaze?
Does a tree cry whrnit falls to the ground?
How many pennies in an old pound?

Why do wolves howl at the moon?
Who in the rhyme ran away with the spoon?
Why does milk white into butter turn yellow?
When did Brendan write The Quare Fellow?

When Alexander discovered the phone
Whom did he call at home, all alone?
How many angels can sit on a pin?
Why was Oscar in jail locked in?

Why do pigs live in a sty?
Have you ever seen a pig in your eye?
When Wibur his plane he did fly,
Did he perhaps, touch the sky?

With the discovery of combustion internal,
Henry designed a machine, infernal.
A visit to the doctor with piles, so terrible,
A cure, perhaps, sometimes, herbal?
