Marilyn Lott - Oklahoma Wheat Harvest

2014-10-28 1

Along the red dirt roads
You’ll find this time of year
Huge machines that cut
The wheat fields fresh and clear

The wheat farmers have always worked
So hard throughout the years
To grow and harvest their golden crop
Chopped down with giant sheers

Old homesteads seep with history
And while the wheat fields thrive
So many old homesteads
Weren’t able to survive

I watch in such amazement
As wheat farmers prevail
The wind whipping those golden strands
That they harvest on a grand scale!
