Alice Anne Gordon - Dreams (i)

2014-10-28 2

Are dreams merely shadows
of a self that is unknown?
That break the body, mind and
soul to energies unflown.
To know thy self, above all things,
is a most impressive plight.
To take leave of the senses
and explore the endless night.
To fly with all eternity
To fly with wings of gold
To fly with gods and demons
To fly with new and old

Are dreams merely make believe,
a film of many scenes?
Projecting fears and wonder
on the world and what it means.
They tell so many stories
Some truth, some lies, some both
It is so difficult to tell
Unless we take an oath to
Fly with all eternity
To fly with wings of gold
To fly with gods and demons
To fly with tales untold
