The leaves are turning yellow
A chill lies in the air
It won't be very long now
Before winter time is here
We think about our gardens
Wind up those old spent plants
Pick the last of our veggies
We don't want to take a chance
It won't be very long now, we know
As we wind up and store the hose
Before the icy winter comes
And there is frost upon our nose
The pumpkins have turned orange
It is nearly time to carve them
But we'll let the vines turn brown
Right up close to the stem
Do you hear the leaves rustle?
Already when the wind blows
They catch the orange and yellow ones
And they drift down to our toes
But I love this time of year
A new season sounds its alarm
Nature is about to change
How I do love autumn's charm!
